Amendment to Directive 2008/98/EC
In Article 8a(7) of Directive 2008/98/EC, the following subparagraph is added:For batteries, as defined in Article 2, 3(1), point (1), of Regulation (EU) 2023/1542 of the European Parliament and of the CouncilRegulation (EU) 2023/1542 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 12 July 2023 concerning batteries and waste batteries, amending Directive 2008/98/EC and Regulation (EU) 2019/1020 and repealing Directive 2006/66/EC (OJ L 191, 28.7.2023, p. 1).., Member States shall take measures to ensure that extended producer responsibility schemes that have been established before 4 July 2018, comply with this Article by 18 August 2025.
