In Part VI, point III(2), the marking of eggs is now stated to take place only at the production site, removing the earlier reference to marking at the first packing centre to which eggs are delivered.
A new point 2a has been added allowing Member States to exempt eggs from the point 2 marking requirement, based on objective criteria, when marking is instead carried out at the first packing centre to which eggs are delivered.

ANNEX VII
DEFINITIONS, DESIGNATIONS AND SALES DESCRIPTION OF PRODUCTS REFERRED TO IN ARTICLE 78
For the purposes of this Annex, the "sale description" means the name under which a foodstuff is sold, within the meaning of Article 5(1) of Directive 2000/13/EC, or … 5,498 unchanged words … the producer code and/or with another indication.
Member States may exempt Class B eggs from this requirement where those eggs are marketed exclusively on their territory.
2. The marking of eggs in accordance with point 1 shall take place at the production site or at site.
2a. Member States may, based on objective criteria, exempt eggs from the requirement laid down in point 2 when the marking is carried out in the first packing centre to which eggs are delivered.
3. Eggs sold by the producer to the final consumer on a local public market in the region of production of the Member State concerned shall be marked in accordance with point … 2,736 unchanged words … with the following fat contents:
less than 39 %,
more than 41 % but less than 60 %,
more than 62 % but less than 80 %.
The milk-fat component of the products listed in this Appendix may be modified only by physical processes.
