The introductory notes gain a new sentence explaining that where column 5 states a precautionary statement may be omitted because another statement is given on the label, that information may be used when selecting statements under Articles 22 and 28, and the wording describing the backslash/diagonal mark symbol is rephrased from 'a backslash or diagonal mark' to 'a forward slash or diagonal mark'.

In the P201 language table of section 2, the Spanish-language translation was changed from a phrase reading roughly 'Pedir instrucciones especiales antes del uso' to one reading 'Solicitar instrucciones especiales antes del uso.'

The entry for code P210 in Table 6.2 changes its wording from listing separate ignition-source hazards (heat, sparks, open flames, hot surfaces) with a note for the manufacturer or supplier to specify the applicable ignition source, to a revised phrase covering heat, hot surfaces, sparks, open flames and other ignition sources, without that specification note.

The hazard class and category rows associated with P210 also differ: the flammable gases category values change from "1, 2" listed separately, the "Flammable aerosols" heading becomes "Aerosols" with categories "1, 2, 3", and the additional column entries for oxidising liquids and oxidising solids specifying "to keep away from heat" are no longer present.
