The maximum concentration limit entry for polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans now also includes dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls (dl-PCBs) within the same 5 mg/kg limit, and the toxic equivalency factor table is expanded with a new dl-PCBs section listing TEF values for a series of named PCB congeners.

The list of substances with concentration limits gains new entries for pentachlorophenol and its salts and esters, dicofol, perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and its salts and related compounds, and perfluorohexane sulfonic acid (PFHxS) and its salts and related compounds, each with stated mg/kg limits, and the polybrominated diphenyl ether sum entry is extended to include decabromodiphenyl ether.

The waste code table adds new entries for fly ash from peat and untreated wood (10 01 03), soil and stones other than those mentioned in 17 05 03 (17 05 04), and wastes from chimney sweeping under a new heading for municipal wastes (20 01 41), none of which appear in the earlier version.
