A new entry 2a is added to Part A, covering very high accuracy capacitance and loss measurement bridges and high frequency radio frequency switches and relays in monitoring and control instruments with a maximum mercury content of 20 mg per bridge, switch or relay, excluding those used for research and development purposes, with a prohibition date of 31.12.2025.

ANNEX II Mercury-added products referred to in Article 5 Part A — Mercury-added products Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 November 2009 on cosmetic products (OJ L 342, 22.12.2009, p. 59). The list of mercury-added products in Part A gains several new entries not present before, including entry 3b covering compact fluorescent lamps not already covered by entries 3 and 3a, entries 4a through 4d covering additional tri-band phosphor and halophosphate phosphor lamps, and entry 5a covering high pressure sodium vapour lamps with specified mercury content thresholds.

Each of these new entries carries its own prohibition date, with entries 3b, 4b, 4d, 5a and 6a listing 31.12.2025 and entries 4a and 4c listing 31.12.2026.

The remaining entries and Part B text are unchanged between the two versions.

The Part A table in Annex II gains new entries not present before: entry 3a covering integrated-ballast compact fluorescent lamps with a 31.12.2025 prohibition date, entry 6a covering cold cathode and external electrode fluorescent lamps of all lengths not covered by entry 6, also dated 31.12.2025, entry 10 covering certain electrical and electronic melt pressure measuring devices with the same 31.12.2025 date, and entry 11 listing other mercury-added products such as mercury vacuum pumps, tyre balancers and wheel weights, photographic film and paper, and propellant for satellites and spacecraft, also dated 31.12.2025.

All entries and wording present in the earlier version, including entries 1 through 9 and Part B, remain unchanged in the later version.
