This is a newly inserted article requiring EBA to monitor the application of Article 269a and evaluate the regulatory capital treatment of NPE securitisations, and to submit a report on its findings to the Commission by 10 October 2022.
It also requires the Commission, by 10 April 2023 and based on that EBA report, to submit its own report to the European Parliament and the Council on the application of Article 269a, accompanied where appropriate by a legislative proposal.

Article 506b NPE securitisations 1. EBA shall monitor the application of Article 269a and shall evaluate the regulatory capital treatment of NPE securitisations having regard to the state of the market for NPEs in general and the state of NPE securitisation market in particular, and submit a report on its findings to the Commission by 10 October 2022. 2. By 10 April 2023, the Commission shall, on the basis of the report referred to in paragraph 1 of this Article, submit a report to the European Parliament and to the Council on the application of Article 269a. The Commission’s report shall, where appropriate, be accompanied by a legislative proposal.
