The provision now sets a single exemption end date of 26 June 2021, replacing the earlier structure that ran until 31 December 2020 or an earlier amendment date and that included separate reporting deadlines and Commission review obligations under paragraphs 2 and 3.
The list of exempted financial instruments now references points (5), (6), (7), (9), (10) and (11) of Section C of Annex I to Directive 2014/65/EU, adding point (11) and switching the referenced directive from Directive 2004/39/EC, while the cross-reference to the pre-2007 non-application of a directive now points to Directive 2004/39/EC instead of Directive 93/22/EEC.
The paragraphs describing the Commission's reporting duty by 31 December 2015 and its ability to submit amendment proposals have been removed entirely.
