The list of directives defining the Authority's scope in paragraph 2 was replaced, dropping the earlier group of sector directives and 2005/60/EC while adding references to Directive 2002/87/EC, Directive (EU) 2016/97, Directive (EU) 2016/2341, and adding a new passage on contributing to the work of the European Banking Authority on money-laundering prevention under Directive (EU) 2015/849 and Regulation (EU) No 1093/2010.
Paragraph 3 now adds consideration of sustainable business models and environmental, social and governance factors, and paragraph 6 adds a new point (g) on enhancing supervisory convergence, rewords point (f) to cover consumer as well as customer protection, and adds language on non-discrimination, transparency, proportionality, accountability and integrity in how the Authority carries out its tasks.
A new paragraph 7 was added establishing a Committee within the Authority to advise on how its actions and measures should account for sector-specific differences such as risk nature, scale and complexity, business models and practice, and the size of institutions and markets.
